Artist's Comments

I put this into the floor of an artsy restaraunt called Beachfire in downtown San Clemente about two years ago. The green part on the left kind of sucks because it was semi-transparent glass. Meh.

I haven't done another mosaic since, but I'd still like to.

Yeah, you should definately do more mosiac. It seems like such a substantial kind of art. This looks very pretty as well.

I agree: Do more mosiacs!
I'm curious as to how you went about doing this though. Did they clip the surrounding stones for you, or did you do that as well? I've always wanted to do stuff like this.

The mosiac is an inlay of the restaurant's logo, so when the floor tile was put in they had the space already cut out. I smashed up all of the coloured tiles and glass used in the piece though. :)

Oh this is really cool! I really love all of the different colours in it.... Mosaic seems so interesting.... Now I totally want to make one, too! I think I should go to the beach and start collecting glass again... :3
